Freedom Academy Reviews

Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous is all I can say! I'm so happy we found this school for our children! I have 2 boys, in the 3rd and 5th grades and my daughter just graduated last year. I would not send my children anywhere else and just wish they had a high school so I didn't have to seek one out! I'd be happy putting them in this school in kindergarten and letting them stay through their senior year in high school! That's how much I love this school! If you are considering making a move ... this is your place! You won't be disappointed! From the teachers, principal and office staff, everyone is the best! Freedom Academy is 'second to none'!

I have been a parent at Freedom Academy since its opening and what started out as a shaky beginning has developed into a school that is excelling academically. The Principal has as much passion and love for my child as I do for all my children. The staff and their unconditional love for each and their students is beyond words. The Aftercare program helps students with their homework and is a place where parents can have peace leaving their child in a safe environment. This is my child's last year at Freedom as she will be graduating and I know she is going to miss it as much as we are. (Oh wait I am not going anywhere she is) Freedom Academy truly is a family!

My son is currently a second grade student at Freedom, and has been attending since he was in kindergarten. I cannot say enough about the Freedom Academy. The education my son is getting is top notch, and far more advanced then his friends that attend public schooling. In fact his aunt who teaches third grade at a public school in Desert Ridge, says what he is learning in second grade is what she is teachinig in third grad. The principal and teaching staff are wonderful, and truly care about the childrens education and safety. My youngest son will be attending next year as a kindergartener, and I can't wait.

Our son is a new student at Freedom this year, and we cannot be happier. The genuine care for our son has been so evident, and I have been very impressed by the passion is leadership I have seen and the desire to make what is great even better. This school is definitely worth looking at.

I am an 8th grade student at Freedom Academy. I have been attending this school for 4 years and I am extremely proud to be enrolled here. The principal creates a unique relationship with each student, and the teachers understand how to maintain a creative learning environment through out the school year. Each year this school becomes better, and I am sad to be leaving this year for high school. Moving to this school has been an experience that I would simply not be the same with out.

We came to Freedome last school year and have been very pleased with the quality of education our kids are getting. The school is growing and it is an exciting time to be involved. The principal obviously cares about every student and has made great strides in creating a very effective team with her staff. This year, there is greater emphasis on respect and focus on traditional values.

Freedom Academy has been a blessing to my two children and my family. You could not ask for better teachers or a more caring principal. My children are getting a great education in a warm, safe environment. Freedom is the best.

We happened along Freedom Academy 5 years ago by accident, and so happy we did. It just gets better and better every year. My children's teachers show genuine concern for their well being and continued success and my kids are excelling in all areas. The principal is involved, visible, and knows every student by name. The PTO is incredible, and creative with opportunities for students and their families to get to know each other and teachers outside of school hours. The Aftercare Program this year has been awesome. The kids are kept occupied with activities, and time to complete homework. I have recommended this school to several families and only wish it continued on through High School.

The Aftercare program at Freedom Academy has had several organizational structures over the past two years however it is now solidified and has received its license by the State. We have experienced, well-qualified Teacher/Care-Givers on staff and provide group tutoring and homework assistance daily. We have a proven track record of improved grades of students in our program and we can provide help with the exceptional learners as well. We look forward to serving the children of Freedom Academy!

Freedom Academy is a wonderful school with an awesome principal and excellent teachers. The principal cares so much about the children, she knows them all by name, and is available and helpful should any problem arise. Most of the time she has addressed the problem before I have even spoken to her. I can't say enough wonderful things about Freedom Academy. My child has been there for 5 years.

I cannot say enough great things about Freedom Academy. Children are challenged to be the best they can be in a non threatening, flexible, intimate environment. The teachers and the principal are top notch and it is obvious they are doing what they do because they love doing it. It amazes me every day how happy my son is when he comes home from school. This is a very special place to be and I am so glad we found it for our son.

The academic programs are of a high standard. There are no extra curricular activities and this is not a school you want to enrol your child in if you are a working parent. The aftercare program is abyssmal. This is a great school for younger children but as they go to higher grades the facilities are not conducive to an enriching learning experience with older children resorting to teasing and bullying due to boredom and lack of progams to stmulate them,.

This is our 4th year at Freedom Academy and we couldn't be happier! We have three daughters who are in kindergarten, 1st grade and 5th grade. They are all doing wonderfully and absolutely love school. We love the small school feel and the parental involvement is just awesome! I've never seen a school where everyone cares so much! The teachers, the principal and the office staff are so friendly and caring. I can't imagine ever going to another school. We are so blessed to be a part of it!

My son is in Kindergarten, he loves the teacher and I am pleased with the small setting. However I am not too impressed with the teachers organiation I don't feel my son is being challenged. I have no idea whats going on in the classroom I try to ask but feel I am getting the run around. It seems as though the teachers are given too much freedom in the class when it comes to curriculum I get the feeling that the teacher is just winging it day by day, unprepared. I am dissapointed, but my son is happy and comfortable and I am still leary about continueing to keep him there. Also the pick-up situation is not the best.

This is our 3rd year at Freedom and we have been very happy with our child's education. The teachers are exceptional and the academics and school atmosphere are superb. Every child should be lucky enough to attend a school as wonderful as this one. We know of many private schools around that cost a fortune and the children receive half of the education. Freedom is a shining example of caring, intelligent individuals providing and education unmatched by any other school around.

This is my thrid year at Freedom Academy and there were some ups and downs, but that will happen in any school throughtout the valley. The 2004/2005 school year was a complete turn around in all areas. My Children's total needs were met both acamemically and emotionaly. One of my children has extra needs and the resousrce room has given them the opportunity to succed academically. The principal has met each and every concern I have had. The teachers are fantastic. The office people have gone above and beyond what any other school would have done. The PTO has completed the success this year with their unending blessings for each parent, student, teacher and staff. THANK YOU FREEDOM ACADEMY!!!!!!!

When my daughter was ready for Kindegarten I toured several schools in our area. They varied from public, private & charter. I was pleasently suprised when I came across Freedom. It had a warm and inviting group of teachers & staff. Principal was pleasent and informative but most important had the students safety & success formost in her plan. The teachers are dedicated, knowledgable and caring. Students are provided an exciting and encouraging place to learn. We have been there 3 years and each year my daughter's teacher amazes me in their lesson plans, activities, and concern for each individual student. My daughter is in second grade and is challenged every day do go beyond what she ever thought she could accomplish. She is excited to go to school, is sad when she is ill and will miss out on the days activites and seeing her teacher. We're truly Blessed!!!!!

Freedom Academy is an excellent school! The teachers and staff are well-trained and motivate the students to do their best every day. There is a 'small school' atmosphere where every child is important and is shown great care and concern. The teachers have instilled a great love of learning in my children. They love to go to school!

I have three children attending Freedom Academy. This is our third year. I drive 30 minutes to get there because of the incredible teachers and caring staff. My daughter was getting lost in the Cave Creek school district due to large class sizes and burned out teachers. Her reading problems were significant and weren't being properly addressed causing her to fall farther behind. She thrives in a school with smaller class sizes and personal attention. The uniform policy helps level the playing field. The academics are excellent. My son is in an all day kindergarten class and is learning things my girls learned in 1st and 2nd grade. The sucess and self-esteem of my children is important to me. My children love this school. I have referred people to this school and their families are happy there too. We can't imagine going anywhere else. We look forward to next year!

My children have been at Freedom for 2 years and absolutely love it! We are very happy with it also and love the their teachers. I think there is always room for improvement so of course there are things that can change or improve. With it being a charter school I think more parents should get involved to try to make things better! There's a great PTO that parents can be involved in. The academics are good and there is music and P.E. There are a few extra activities that are offered after school but hopefully in 2005-06 we'll have art and spanish during the school day. Come visit us, you'll like us!

The school this year has been wonderful! The principal has done an excellent job of turning the school around. Our family still has some concern regarding the upper grades both with teacher control and curriculum. It seems at times that the upper grade teachers just don't care what happens. Unfortunately, this affects the lower grades. There are times we're not sure how we will be greeted in the office either, but overall, we love Freedom Academy and wait to see what will happen in the future.

Freedom Academy was a disappointment this year. There were major issues with the principal that were not dealt with until recently and two teachers were let go for unacceptable behavior. Freedom Academy lacks extracurricular activities and a lot of parents are moving on. Freedom Academy does have a new principal who will be great for the job. Unfortunately, things were allowed to go on for too long and the parents are not willing to wait around another school year to see what will happen. The school as a whole is very disorganized and the ofice staff is rude.

The 2003-2004 school year was a waste of time at Freedom Academy. The middle school teachers were not capable of keeping their personal feelings and (inappropriate) stories out of the classroom or even keeping the class under control. Time and again, we tried to get the principal to do something, but it wasn't until the school year was mostly over that the two teachers and the principal were let go. There is a new principal there now who seems to be aggressively pursuing getting teachers in who will raise the bar, but we don't have any more time to cross our fingers and hope that things get better. We're going back to our old school. I'm marking 'Principal Leadership' at a 4 now for the current principal, but the old principal was about a 2 and Pinnacle Education took until February or March to do something about it.
